01

Function.

What the system does, and what each part tells the others. No hardware yet.

Generated by the benchmark. Functions and the signals between them, as the connected-flow test states them. Function and load names are display labels; the test uses ids.

02

Platform.

Every function placed on an ECU, and every signal between ECUs given a bus.

The correct design (answer key). Which ECU each function runs on, and which buses each cross-ECU signal rides (stages 1 and 2).

Wiring.

Which wire lands in which cavity, in what colour, with which terminal and seal.

The correct design (answer key). Connector cavities, terminals, seals and cut lengths (stages 3, 6 and 7). Wire colours are display only.

Harness.

The wires gathered into bundles, each branch as thick as what it carries.

06

In 3D.

The harness where it lives. Orbit it, zoom in, pick any part.

Layout, shown flat. This source has no 3D routing, so the formboard layout is shown in 3D, flat. The real NX harness (Aero, Wing fuel harness) is drawn where NX routed it.

07

Formboard.

The harness laid flat at full size, ready to build on.

The correct design (answer key). The same tree laid out at true branch length, with a peg at every breakout and a tag at every connector.

08

Maintain.

When something stops working: what could cause it, where to measure, and how to fix it.

Derived from this design. Every single fault the harness can have (fuse, connector, pin, wire, bundle, termination, load), the loads each would stop, and the measurements that tell them apart. Nothing here is extra data: it is the design read backwards.

1 · What has stopped working?

2 · What could cause it

Mark one or more loads. Every single fault the design allows is checked against them: a blown fuse, an unmated connector, a pin backed out, an open wire, a damaged bundle, a loose termination, the load itself.

3 · Find it

A measurement procedure appears here when more than one fault fits.
